Explanation of notation methodMETHOD: a. The indentation indicates generations, which are also numbered across the top of each table. b. '=' The marriage relation is indicated with an = sign c. The issues of the marriage are indented one generation. d. So names indented one tab stop and aligned vertically under an = symbol always indicate siblings. e. Whenever a daughter changes her name in marriage her surname is omitted since the maiden name is obvious. f. Maiden names of women marrying into the family are always listed. g.
