Background
The Performing Arts have long been among my greatest passions, whether acting, singing, directing, set design and building or, as now, play writing. Back in England I was a member of Shaftesbury Arts Centre for many years.

New Voices
I am a Founder Member of New Voices, a play-writing group based in Orange County, Southern California. You may see my stage 'bio' here.

Stage biography
Michael comes from England but works in California as a software consultant.

For many years he has been a well known public speaker and has taught communication skills.

In 1989 he became seriously involved with community theatre in the UK where he has played roles as various as a psychopathic killer, the hero village idiot, Marco - the lead tenor in The Gondoliers, and Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Napoleon in Animal Farm.

He is experienced in the British genre of pantomime and directed three shows at his home base in Shaftesbury, England; The Boy Friend, The Private Ear and Robinson Crusoe.

Michael began writing for the stage several years ago, but it only now pursuing this with serious intent.

As a member of New Voices Playwrights Workshop he has successfully written and staged several highly rated short plays in the Group's various productions.

He is currently writing the biography of his great, great Grandfather, from which also will flow another full length play.
