It was taken the day after Ali and Roger married and by now they were off on their honeymoon. The rest of the family met up for Sunday lunch at a lovely hotel in the New Forest. This is a rare picture of this very scattered family all together. We knew at the time that this was a very special occasion - and savoured it to the full.
With some phoney protestations from my father, Robert, we sat him down first with his two wives. Pat (right) was first, followed by Margaret (left). After photographing the three of them, everyone else joined in.
The four children of Robert and Pat are all there: Michael, with Jill and their son Jonathan; Philippa, with Jim and their children, Jean and Michael, Robin, with his wife Carol; Richard, with Lorriane - although we hasten to add that she was not in the picture for much longer. (Richard now lives with his own Carole and their two gorgeous little girls.)
